Makeup Brush Favourites

Makeup brushes is something I’ve only started to branch out on recently – until just a couple of months ago the only brushes I owned were Eco Tools, simply because I knew they were vegan & cruelty free. It wasn’t until I started to do a little more research that I discovered how many amazing brands there are out there! It’s great to have a variety because different products often require different levels of firmness or textures. So, to help guide your decision, here are my top five brands!

Real techniques brush heads

Real Techniques

For me, Real Techniques are the holy grail makeup brush brand – I just freaking love them! You can tell as soon as they touch your skin that they’re of excellent quality, and they come in a tonne of different designs – some of them are so pretty! As soon as I picked up one of these brushes I felt like I just had to buy more. I can’t tell you enough how amazing they are, they’re definitely my favourite makeup brush brand!

Eco Tools

As I mentioned above, this was the first brand of makeup brush that I used, and the only for a long time. I always used to think that makeup brushes were kind of a waste of money, so I just owned one small set and that was it! Now I’ve realised they can completely change your makeup routine and I’ve added others into the mix, but that’s not to say these aren’t great – they’re affordable, they look good and they’re super soft! The bags they come in are super cute and they match (win) They also have a range of smaller brushes which are perfect for travelling!

B. Makeup Brushes

Superdrug B.

I actually only own two brushes from this range but I absolutely LOVE them. They’re both big face brushes that are soooooo soft, and I find the Finishing Brush absolutely perfect to apply thinner foundations like the Gosh #foundationdrops or No.7 Airbrush Away foundation (although I’m not entirely sure that’s what it’s intended for!). They’ve changed the look of this brush now, and I much prefer the new style, but hopefully the brush itself is just as good quality! I’m really looking forward to trying more of their tools.

So eco rose gold brushes

So Eco

I hadn’t heard of these brushes until a couple of weeks ago, when I was trotting around the supermarket and all of a sudden realised that I’d been meaning to pick up some more eyeshadow brushes. I didn’t think there would be anything vegan and cruelty free at the supermarket, but I went along to have a look anyway and lo and behold, here they were! They’re amazingly affordable and suitable for vegans, so I thought I’d give a couple a try. I didn’t think they’d be that great, but I was wrong. I absolutely love these brushes and they are an absolute DREAM to blend eyeshadow with. I was one very happy girl that evening!

Indy Luxe

Last but certainly not least come the fabulous Indy Luxe brushes – if you haven’t heard of these, then I don’t know where you have been. You can buy a lot of similar looking brushes on amazon for a fraction of the price, but as you can imagine they’re reported to be of low quality and just for a bit of fun – Indy Luxe, however, is a different story. They are the perfect combination of beauty and quality – they look amazing but they are actually good, too. Amazing. What’s even better? With my discount code KIRSTYISABELLA20 you can get 20% off any of their sets, bringing their famous Merbabe collection down to just £28!

If you have any more vegan & cruelty free brush recommendations please do let me know, down in the comments or over on Twitter @kirstyisabella0! You can see these brushes in action over on my Youtube channel, too, which you can find here (watch out for my halloween makeup looks!).

The indyluxe brushes look so insta worthy aha! I only really use brushes for eye makeup or when I’m using setting powder because I find sponges so much easier and quicker, but I’d love to have an awesome collection! I use ecotools too!!
