Your Good Skin Product Launch/Review
Your Good Skin is the first new brand Boots has launched in over fifteen years. You could see this in two ways – either, they’re out of practise, or they’ve been working on this launch for a really long time. (Verdict to follow.) The range launched on the 28th of September, so we’re only a couple of months in but already their prize product is receiving rave reviews – the Balancing Skin Concentrate, clinically proven to improve the five key signs of healthy looking skin in just 28 days, has a 4.5 star rating on boots.com and boasts right there on the packaging that 95% of users reported softer, smoother skin after just 28 days.
Sounds too good to be true, right? So you can find out for yourself, Your Good Skin have launched a 28 day challenge complete with an online community and a daily or weekly coach to guide you through your first 28 days. I personally went for the daily guide because I’m so freaking forgetful, but I love that there are options! I’m only fourteen days in so far, but I must say I’m already noticing a difference. I know that sounds mad, and maybe it is just my imagination, but acne and Roaccutane left my skin with a lot to be desired. I don’t know if it’s just my warped logic, but I reckon it makes sense for me to see differences earlier given that I started off with worse than average skin.
I started off with a whole host of skin problems, the most pressing of which being hyper-pigmentation, atrophic scarring and dark circles under my eyes. As well as that, I felt as though my skin just had a dullness to it that came as a product of sleepless nights and to-do lists as long as my arm. I am absolutely sure that my scarring has improved as a result of this serum. My skin simply feels smoother and more evenly toned. It hasn’t done much to improve my dark circles (but then it never promised to!) and I definitely think my skin has a glow to it that it didn’t before. All in all, I freaking love this serum, and I love the texture of it as it applies – I like to think of it as a more affordable, vegan-friendly alternative to a Clarins serum.
Despite everything I just said, and I know it makes sense to focus on something that’s clinically proven… but what about the other 22 products in the range? I do feel as though they’re pushed to one side as add-ons to the main event, which is a mighty shame as there are some cracking products there. Besides the Balancing Skin Concentrate my favourite must be the Pore Minimising Tonic – I started using this a couple of days before I began my 28 day coach and I immediately felt as though my pores had tightened up. I use it in place of a toner, and at £4.99 for 200ml you really can’t go wrong.
See what I thought of their other products in my new YouTube video here:
All I need now is for them to bring out an eye-brightening cream and I will be a very happy girl! I’m so unbelievably impressed with this range, and can’t wait to try out the rest of their products.
Until next time,
