#12 Weekly Reflection – Turning 22.
This weekly was by far my favourite to edit so far. I’ve spoken before about how much I enjoy putting together my weekly vlogs, but rewatching my birthday week was so much fun – especially as I was unable to enjoy it on the day thanks to a stomach bug! This year was the first time I really thought: It’s my birthday again. I’m getting old! Now, that’s probably a bit of an overreaction but there are moments when I look around and wonder what I’ve done with the four years since I left school. I know for sure that I’ve changed wholly as a person, but I’m not quite sure what I’ve got to show for it.
I’ve worked full-time in hospitality for over three years. That might sound like peanuts to some people, but having only just turned 22 it seems like a great big chunk of my life. I’ve been stumbling around trying to get to grips with my blog over the past six months – working shifts as well as studying a degree simply doesn’t lend itself to spending days on end installing a new blog theme. (I’ve been working on this theme for like three weeks and I’m still not done. Ouch.)
The only achievement I’m really proud of is my flat. Ten days from now I’m going to be a homeowner, and holy crap, that sounds crazy. I’m not going to deny that I’ve had help with the deposit, but I’ve worked and saved really freaking hard, too. It’s honestly going to be my pride and joy – and I hope you’re looking forward to the decorating and DIY posts and videos as much as I am!
On my actual birthday, despite my being ill, Joe and I went out to an amazing restaurant in York, and there’ll be a review to follow!
Until next time,
